ABOUT
ME

My name is Lilou-Ornella D'Inca, and I am currently a G12 student at the International School of Monza.
I was only 11 years old when I attended an MUN Conference for the very first time. I will always be grateful to Mr. Ackers, my Individuals and Societies Teacher at that time, who believed in my skills and thought I could become a great delegate, although I was very young. From the moment I stepped into the General Assembly where all the different delegations were gathered, I knew this is what I would like to do in my future life: I want to become a diplomat, and I want to fight to make our world a better place.
I have now attended six different conferences around Europe and been awarded an Honorable Mention, and my yearly participation in the event has allowed me to be aware of the too many global issues that affect our world nowadays. It has helped me understand that students around the world have powerful ideas, and that, if we all work hand in hand, we can bring a positive and peaceful change to humanity. MUN has reinforced my determination to fight for people’s rights and be a voice for those whose opinion cannot be heard. Thanks to MUN, I have developed many talents that will definitely enable me to achieve my goal.

All these motivations brought me to organize an MUN Conference at the International School of Monza last year, as part of my MYP 5 Personal Project. On November 13th and 14th 2018, 145 students and their advisors coming from five different schools gathered to take part in the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and debates of Monza MUN.

As many people enjoyed the conference and I received very positive feedback on it, I decided to foster my passion for the United Nations and give students a second opportunity to share their ideas on global issues by organizing another Monza MUN next November.
This year's theme, "Developing peaceful, equitable and inclusive societies while addressing the increasing effects of climate change", reflects the urgent need for solutions to pressing international problems, including global warming. I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions on this topic and hope that you will seize this chance to improve your skills and learn more about Model United Nations and diplomacy.
